# Class cost calculator

Work out what your classes cost each month. This tool compares paying drop-in with buying packs. Enter the prices from your studio, in one currency.

Use the tool on the [web page](https://studiofinder.ca/tools/class-cost-calculator). It works without JavaScript.

## How to use it

1. Enter classes per month.
2. Enter drop-in price of one class.
3. Enter classes in a pack.
4. Enter price of one pack.
5. Read the result.

## How it works

You enter your classes per month, the drop-in price of one class and the pack details. The tool uses only the numbers you enter. It does not read listing prices.

Drop-in cost is your classes per month times your drop-in price, rounded to the nearest whole unit.

For packs, we divide the pack price by the pack size. We buy whole packs, so we round the number of packs up.

The break-even is the pack price divided by your drop-in price, rounded down, plus one class. If it is more than the pack size, the pack never beats drop-in.

> This is an estimate, not a quote. Ask the studio for its current prices and terms.

## Questions

### Where do the drop-in prices come from?

You enter them. Use the drop-in price and the pack price on the studio page, in one currency.

### Why does the pack cost use whole packs?

A studio sells packs as a set number of classes. You cannot buy part of a pack. Check whether your pack expires before you use all the classes.

### Does this include memberships?

No. For a membership, divide the monthly fee by the classes you attend and compare it with the drop-in price here.
